AOSON MEMBERSHIP

Membership of the Association is open to both Nigerians and Non- Nigerian Shipowners in the Country, whilst the Association will also consider applications from other organizations or establishments critical to the Shipping Industry on a case by case basis.
Members of the Association are committed to maintain the highest standards of the safety and other regulatory compliance standards as well as best Industry practices.

WHY JOIN US?

  • By joining AOSON, you will benefit from our main objective which includes:
    To promote the interest of Nigerian owned vessels and to provide a forum for dialogue between Nigerian Shipowners among themselves and with any other interests on topical issues, policies and practices pertaining to the business of Shipownership and management.
  • To facilitate participation of Nigerian Shipowners in International fora on shipping matters, through effective representation in such meetings.
  • To cultivate and maintain good relations with the Government and Maritime Authorities by contributing expertise in formulating policies and regulations on National Shipping and Maritime activities.
  • To vigorously pursue training, re-training, employment and welfare of Nigerian seafarers on board Nigerian- owned vessels.
  • To contribute to the development of the Shipping and Maritime Industry by promoting, encouraging, supporting and patronizing shipbuilding and ship repair yards located in and owned by Nigerians.
  • To support the Government and relevant agencies in the compliance with applicable IMO and ILO Instruments.
  • To promote and support the growth and development of the Shipping business of members.

REGISTRATION FEES & ANNUAL DUES

  • Upon admission into the Association of Offshore Ship Owner & Operators of Nigeria (AOSON), the Full or Associate member shall pay a one-time non-refundable registration fees stated as follows:
  • Full membership fees: N1000,000.00 (One Million Naira) only ,
  • Associate membership fees: N400,000.00 (Four Hundred Thousand Naira) only.
  • Also, annual dues for full member is N500, 000.00 (Five Hundred Thousand Naira) only, whilst associate member is N250,000.00 (Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) only.

N.B. ANNUAL DUES MAY CHANGE SUBJECT TO GENERAL HOUSE DECISION.
